Hi there!
First of all, thank you for dropping by and for taking time to read what I write.
Dish by Dish was started on May 4, 2012, as a chronicle of my journey in the kitchen.
A journey among kitchen appliances, utensils, weird sounding herbs and foods, and a little notepad for me to keep track of the recipes that I’ve tried and experimented with.
Why does https://www.dishbydish.net exist?
Well, you may then ask, why didn’t I just keep a handy paper notebook and write it all down the old-fashioned way? It’s also probably much more authentic and humble, you might think.
It’s true, I could have just jotted down my tested recipes and stuffed them in a folder, and re-read the old yellowed pages when my hair is greyed and I am old. But then, they would be just that, old yellowed hand-written recipes that would at most be passed down to my children, and their children, if they even remembered that the papers existed.
You see, I’ve seen how heirloom recipes get passed down multiple generations, only to get stuck in silverfish-eaten notebooks and cookbooks long forgotten. Oh no, it’s not that I’m already planning my grandchildren’s heirloom, certainly that is the least of my worries.
Dish by Dish exists because of one fundamental reason – to share recipes with those who aren’t full-time cooks or master chefs.
Its main reason of existence is to provide a little cove of easy, do-able recipes with step-by-step picture instructions to guide the kitchen novice, to help the busy housewife decide what to put on the dinner menu, or simply just to introduce the culinary world to those who are even slightly interested, from the perspective of someone (me) who is also learning every step of the way. It’s a place where people with similar interests in food and cooking can gather to exchange comments and tips and ideas, without any obligation, and purely motivated out of a generousness to share and enjoy.
I’ve learnt that in life, when you give freely, you receive freely. And that sometimes it’s better to just give abundantly to do your bit in changing the world, one step at a time. In this case, I hope to achieve this dish by dish.
Have a great time exploring this site, and if you’d like, please leave me a comment to let me know what you think, to add spice to the dishes on this site, or even just to say a little hi. Thank you for your time, I appreciate it.
Kisses from Argentina,
Felicia
