These easy air fryer salmon bites come together in almost no time at all! Marinated in honey mustard, then cooked in the air fryer until crispy, these make a delicious savory snack! Totally gluten-free and dairy-free too.
Ingredients
Instructions
- Preheat & Line: Preheat the air fryer to 360F. Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper.
- Prepare Marinade: In a deep bowl, place honey, mustard, salt, dried herbs, and olive oil. Stir the ingredients until smooth.
- Marinate Salmon: Gently toss the salmon cubes with the prepared marinade, making sure all pieces remain intact. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least half an hour.
- Cook Salmon: Place the marinated salmon bites in a single layer. Air fry at 360F for 5 minutes (after which the salmon will be slightly browned on top, but still slightly raw underneath). Use kitchen tongs to flip the salmon bites over and fry for another 3 minutes.
- Serve and Enjoy: Serve the salmon bites immediately, with fresh herbs and dipping sauce of choice.
Notes
Salmon: I recommend using evenly-thick salmon fillets that can be easily cut into similar sized 1-inch cubes.
Mustard: I used Dijon mustard, but you may also use other types of mustard that you like.
Honey: I used honey to create a honey mustard, but you can also use maple syrup or agave nectar if you prefer. Alternatively, if you are diabetic or insulin-resistant, go ahead and use maple-flavored monkfruit syrup (a maple syrup alternative that is low-glyemic index).
Olive Oil: I like using extra virgin olive oil, but you may also use other types of vegetable oils (such as avocado oil, sunflower oil, canola oil, etc).
Dried Herbs: Feel free to mix up the dried herbs of choice (I like using a mix of dried oregano, dried basil and dried thyme).
Storing: To store any leftovers, place air fried salmon bites in an airtight container and store for up to 2 days. Reheat in the air fryer before eating.
