Recipe Notes + Substitutions:

  • Salmon: I recommend using evenly-thick salmon fillets that can be easily cut into similar sized 1-inch cubes.
  • Mustard: I used Dijon mustard, but you may also use other types of mustard that you like.
  • Honey: I used honey to create a honey mustard, but you can also use maple syrup or agave nectar if you prefer. Alternatively, if you are diabetic or insulin-resistant, go ahead and use maple-flavored monkfruit syrup (a maple syrup alternative that is low-glyemic index).
  • Olive Oil: I like using extra virgin olive oil, but you may also use other types of vegetable oils (such as avocado oil, sunflower oil, canola oil, etc).
  • Dried Herbs: Feel free to mix up the dried herbs of choice (I like using a mix of dried oregano, dried basil and dried thyme).

How to Make Air Fryer Salmon Bites (Step by Step):

1. Preheat & Line

Preheat the air fryer to 360F. Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper.

2. Prepare Marinade

In a deep bowl, place honey, mustard, salt, dried herbs, and olive oil. Stir the  ingredients until smooth.

3. Marinate Salmon

Gently toss the bite-sized salmon pieces with the prepared marinade, making sure all pieces remain intact.

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least half an hour.

4. Cook Salmon

Place the marinated salmon chunks in a single layer. Air fry at 360F for 5 minutes (after which the salmon will be slightly browned on top, but still slightly raw underneath).
