I never imagined Dish by Dish would evolve so much and reach the 6-month milestone.
To be honest, I never really did think that far ahead, I just kept on experimenting with new recipes whenever I felt like it (sometimes it was just once a week, sometimes the urge to cook just overwhelmed me every single day), and before I knew it, wow! We’ve reached the 6-month mark!
I know 6 months isn’t that long to shout about and get so hyped up over, but it is true that for all the new blogs that get started every single day, many blogs get abandoned or shut down before 6 months, as bloggers give in to busy life schedules or simply get bored of maintaining a site, especially when a lack of readership may be a huge drag on motivation.
But I know why I keep on going. It’s because of all of you.
It’s because of the fantastically amazing amount of support that I’ve received from friends, family and the overall food blogger community, all of whom play a huge part in reminding me that this is not just a blog.
Dish by Dish is a site for sharing & giving freely, spreading much-loved family heirloom and invented recipes. It is a place full of creative potential, formed daily through sheer determination, hard work and delirious enthusiasm. It is a space where I can express myself through the culinary sphere, a cove of gradually growing kitchen guides and tips, somewhere I feel I’m making a difference.
Just a drop in the ocean?
I know how many other food blogs are out there, and that the impact Dish by Dish makes may be just a drop in the ocean, a grain of sand in the dessert, a single star out in the entire universe. But it doesn’t matter, because you need every drop of water to form the ocean, each grain of sand to make up the Sahara desert, and every single star for there to be a universe.
You’re the reason why I’m cracking my brain to concoct new recipes everyday, why my dreams are filled with ingredients of every type, and why I feel so engaged to test, experiment and try out different recipes, week after week, month after month.

So let’s celebrate the wonderful past 6 months of recipes, and let’s toast to even more to come!
By the way, I also wanted to celebrate the entire month of November, for various reasons.
Obviously, the fact that Dish by Dish turns 6 months old is a huge reason to throw a party, whack the piñata, and have a heck of a great time… but here are some other personal reasons:
1) I’ve been going to my Curves gym for ONE WHOLE YEAR!
2) Juan celebrates his birthday on November 14!
3) And I celebrate mine on November 27!
