Recipe Notes + Substitutions:

  • Brie: Since this is a recipe for baked brie, brie is an essential ingredient. Make sure to use an round of brie, as the rind helps to hold the melted cheese together.
  • Pecans: I like using pecan halves, but feel free to use other types of chopped nuts if you prefer.
  • Maple Syrup: I used maple syrup, but you can also drizzle another type of liquid sweetener (such as honey or agave nectar).
  • Rosemary: Garnishing the baked brie was a sprig of rosemary adds a festive feel to this appetizer, but you can also use other fresh herbs of your choice (such as thyme or chives).

How to Make Baked Brie with Jam:

Place on Baking Dish and Score: Place the entire brie wheel on a parchment-lined baking dish. Score the top with a sharp knife (creating diagonally intersecting lines) without cutting through the cheese completely.

Sprinkle with Toppings: Spread jam over the top, sprinkle with chopped pecans, drizzle with maple syrup, and add chopped rosemary.

Bake & Serve: Bake for 5–6 minutes, just until soft but not melted through. Serve immediately, transferring carefully to a plate. Enjoy warm with crackers, nuts, and extra jam.

Dish by Dish Tips:

  • Jam: Feel free to use your favorite jam of choice in this baked brie recipe, preferably a red-colored jam to bring a bit of holiday feel (fig jam, raspberry jam, strawberry jam, or even cranberry sauce, etc.).
  • Use Nuts of Choice: I used pecans, but crunchy walnuts will work too.
  • Don’t Overbake: Brie cheese should stay intact but gooey inside.
  • Serve With: This warm brie goes great with accompanied with crackers or gluten-free baguette slices on your holiday cheese board.
