Ingredients
- 4 pieces gluten-free pita bread
- 1/3 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon ground paprika
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat the air fryer to 360F.
- Cut Pita Bread into Triangles: Cut the gluten-free pitas into small triangles or strips, as desired. Place the cut pieces in a bowl.
- Season Pita Pieces: Pour the olive oil into a bowl, then add the salt and spices. Mix everything thoroughly. (Alternatively, you can also brush the pita with olive oil on both sides. Then sprinkle the oiled pitas with salt and spices. Finally, cut the seasoned pitas into small triangles or squares)
- Place Pita Pieces in Air Fryer Basket: Put the pita pieces in a single layer in the air fryer basket and air-fry for 3 minutes.
- Shake Basket: After 3 minutes, shake the basket and air fry for another 2 minutes.
- For Extra Crispy Chips: If you want more toasted and crispy pita chips, cook them for another 2 minutes.
- Repeat Until All Pita Pieces Are Used: Repeat the process until all the pita chips are cooked. (Depending on the size of your air fryer basket, you may need to cook the chips in 2-3 batches).
- Serve and Enjoy: Serve pita chips with your favorite dipping sauce!
Notes
Pita Bread: I used gluten-free pita bread (you can either get storebought or make your own) to keep this recipe gluten-free. Alternatively, if you are not Celiac or gluten-intolerant, feel free to use normal pita bread instead.)
Spices: I used a mix of ground coriander, granulated garlic, and ground paprika for the seasoning. Feel free to use other spices if you prefer (such as onion powder, ground cayenne pepper, black pepper etc). Alternatively, you can also leave out the spices if you rather not use any.
Olive Oil: I like using extra virgin olive oil, but you can also use another vegetable oil of your choice (such as canola oil, sunflower oil, avocado oil etc).
Storing: To store, place the cooled air fried pita chips in an airtight container and store at room temperature for 2 days. Reheat in the air fryer at 360F for 2 minutes to crisp them up before enjoying.
