Snippets of Fall in DC

There’s a little more than a month left before fall officially gives way to winter.

The once yellow-green shades have now been replaced by reddish browns, and the chill in the air is evident of late fall’s lowering temperatures.

Fall, or autumn, however you wish to call it, is an absolutely beautiful season – even if the sun sets by 5.30pm and I really wish for longer days filled with summer’s golden sunshine.

The streets are mostly covered in auburn leaves, crisp under our feet as we trample upon them, and there is a freshness in the air; of pine trees and a gentle humidity.

Ahh, the sounds and smells of fall.

My friend Marina visited us last weekend, and it was nice to spend time with her again after almost a year – the last time we’d seen each other was in Buenos Aires.

When you’re overseas, visits from friends and family is always to be treasured.. And it was amazing to have Marina here with us.

(If you’re reading this Marina, thank you so much for coming to visit! Te quiero amiga!)

I loved that I could show her around DC, my new city – and we walked around the National Mall, Georgetown and as many other parts of DC as we could in just two days.

Here are snippets of Marina’s trip to DC and the beauty of the fall season…I hope you’ll enjoy them!

  1. Somehow I had missed this post while I was travelling in China.

The photos you took were so rich in autumn colors. I like bright and radiant colors which never fail to bring up a smile as I
take it all in. Just love looking at all your pictures in this post. Thank you Felicia 🙂
