Recipe Notes + Substitutions:

  • Little Smokies: Make sure to get cocktail sausages (tiny hot dogs) because that’s the whole point of these individual finger foods (so they can be served individually!).
  • Bacon: Depending on how much you enjoy bacon, you can either use regular-cut bacon or thick-cut bacon, and then cutting the bacon into narrow strips.
  • Honey: I used raw honey, but you can use whichever honey you have on hand.

Dish by Dish Tips/Tricks:

  • No Mini Sausages? If you can’t find mini sausages, you can simply cut a regular sausage or hot dog into small bite-sized pieces.
  • Swap out Pork for Turkey: If you don’t eat pork, simply use mini turkey sausages and turkey bacon instead.
  • Use Maple Syrup: Feel free to swap out the honey with maple syrup or agave nectar instead!
  • Prepare Ahead: If you wish, you can always prep first by wrapping the lil smokies in bacon and then storing them in an airtight container for up to 1 day before baking them and serving.
  • Dipping Sauces to Serve With: These smokies go great with barbecue sauce, honey mustard, or aioli!
