Smaller Holiday Gatherings?
While we often associate a roasted whole turkey with Thanksgiving and holidays, it can be quite a feat to cook an entire turkey.. and here’s where this easy roasted turkey breast comes in!
Way easier to manage, especially if you’re hosting a smaller group and don’t wish to have too much leftover turkey (although that isn’t necessarily a problem, we think!).
Why This Recipe Works:
- Simple Ingredients: The main ingredients required for making this oven-roasted turkey breast recipe are easily accessible at the local grocery store (nothing fancy required!).
- Easy to Make: With little hands-on time (most of it is just marinating and roasting time), this is an uncomplicated recipe that anyone can make!
- Totally Gluten-Free & Dairy-Free: The best part is that this roast turkey breast recipe is 100% gluten-free and dairy-free, which means that even those with Celiac or gluten or lactose intolerances can enjoy it without issues!

Recipe Notes + Substitutions:
- Turkey Breast:Â I used a bone-in turkey breast that was approximately 2 pounds in weight. But you may also use a boneless turkey breast instead. If your turkey breast is smaller or larger, you will have to either shorten or extend your roasting time.
- Olive Oil: I like using extra virgin olive oil, but you may also use another type of vegetable oil instead (such as canola oil, sunflower oil, avocado oil, etc.). You can also use melted dairy-free butter if you prefer. Alternatively, if you are not lactose-intolerant, go ahead and use regular melted butter instead.
- Dijon Mustard: I used Dijon mustard, but you can use whichever mustard you have on hand (such as yellow mustard, or honey mustard, etc.).
- Sugar: I used light brown sugar, but white sugar or cane sugar will work just as well. Alternatively, if you are diabetic or insulin-resistant, you may use granulated monkfruit sweetener (a 1:1 sugar substitute that is zero glycemic index).
- Condiments: To add flavor, I used a mix of seasonings such as ground black pepper, granulated garlic, ground coriander, ground paprika. However, feel free to use other condiments of choice (such as garlic powder, onion powder, or poultry seasoning).
- Herbs: I used a mix of dried thyme, dried oregano and dried basil. However, feel free to use any mixture of dried herbs you like.
How to Make Roasted Turkey Breast (Step by Step):
1. Preheat Oven
Preheat the oven to 350F.
2. Prepare Marinade
Place the olive oil, Dijon mustard, light brown sugar, salt, pepper, granulated garlic, ground coriander, dried herbs and ground paprika in a bowl. Mix everything thoroughly.
3. Marinate Turkey
Place turkey breast in a baking dish and brush all over with the marinade. Cover the whole turkey breast with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 3 hours or overnight.
Once the turkey breast has finished marinating, cover the turkey breast with aluminum foil and place it in the oven.
4. Roast Until Golden Brown
Roast the turkey breast in the preheated oven for 40-50 minutes. Then remove the foil and roast it at 400F for another 10 minutes until the skin is golden brown.
5. Let Turkey Breast Rest
Remove the baking dish from the oven and let the turkey breast rest under the foil for another 15 minutes.
