Recipe Notes + Substitutions:
- Turkey Quarter:Â Since this is a recipe for air fryer turkey quarters (which includes both the thigh and the drumstick), turkey quarters are a key ingredient. However, you may also use only turkey thighs or turkey legs (turkey drumsticks) if you prefer.
- Butter: I used dairy-free butter to keep this recipe dairy-free. However, if you are not lactose-intolerant, go ahead and use regular butter instead.
- Parmesan: I used dairy-free parmesan to keep this recipe dairy-free. However, if you are not lactose-intolerant, go ahead and use regular parmesan cheese instead.
- Garlic Paste: Garlic paste is a secret ingredient to boost the flavor of these air fried turkey quarters. I highly recommend adding it in to get the best taste.
How to Cook Turkey Quarters in the Air Fryer (Step by Step):
1. Preheat Air Fryer
Preheat the air fryer to 400F.
2. Prepare Garlic Butter
Place grated parmesan, soft butter, garlic paste, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Mix everything thoroughly until you get a homogeneous paste.
3. Spread Garlic Butter Over Turkey
Wash the turkey quarter and dry it thoroughly with paper towels, then spread the seasoned butter on all sides of the turkey quarter.
4. Place in Air Fryer Basket
Place the butter-coated turkey quarter in the preheated air fryer basket and cook it for 15 minutes on one side, before flipping it over with kitchen tongs and cooking it for another 15 minutes on the other side.
Check the readiness by piercing the meat to the bone with a skewer (If the juices run clear, then the turkey is cooked. If the juices are still slightly pink, cook it for another 5 to 10 minutes, turning the quarter several times).
5. Serve and Enjoy!
Serve the finished turkey quarter whole or cut into pieces, with sauce and extra parmesan.
