The Easiest Party Dip!
Our friend Carlita used to make an amazing party dip that everyone couldn’t get enough of. We’d dip our crackers and breadsticks in it, and when the crackers ran out, we’d dip our fingers in directly (it honestly was a true crowd pleaser!).
After relentessly pestering Carlita for the recipe, she finally gave in and revealed her secret – cream cheese mixed with a store-bought seasoning mix (!!).
I thought it was simply GENIUS.
I mean, throw two simple ingredients together and you have an absolutely delicious dip, so you’ll always have an easy appetizer in no time when friends pop by unexpected!
Today, we’re making a slight twist to that – we’ll be using a protein-rich cottage cheese base and a ready-made ranch seasoning mix.
Why You’ll Love this Recipe:
- Only 2 Ingredients: With just two ingredients (excluding water), this ranch dip with cottage cheese is as simple as it gets!
- Super Easy to Make: All you need to do is combine the ingredients in a food processor and blend until you get the consistency you want.
- Totally Gluten-Free: The best part is that this cottage cheese ranch dressing dip is 100% gluten-free, which means that even those with Celiac disease or gluten intolerances can enjoy it without issues!
Ingredients You’ll Need + Recipe Notes
Here’s a visual overview of the ingredients required for making this easy cottage cheese dip recipe.
(For exact measurements, please scroll down to the printable recipe card at the bottom of this post.)
- Cottage Cheese: Since this is a recipe for cottage cheese ranch dip, cottage cheese is a main ingredient here, so I wouldn’t substitute it.
- Ranch Seasoning: You can use a store-bought ranch seasoning mix or make your own ranch seasoning by using dried herbs like dried parsley, black pepper, granulated garlic, onion powder, and other spices to taste.
How to Make Cottage Cheese Ranch Dressing Dip:
Combine Ingredients: Add the cottage cheese and ranch seasoning to a food processor or high-speed blender. If your cottage cheese is very thick or dry, add a splash of water or milk for easier blending to make it a little thinner.
Blend Until Creamy: Blend the dip for 2–3 minutes on high speed until smooth and creamy. Pause as needed to scrape down the sides for a more uniform texture.
Serve and Enjoy: Serve this creamy cottage cheese dip chilled or immediately and top with fresh chives and accompany with your favorite veggies, crackers, breadsticks or potato chips.
Dish by Dish Tips:
- Consistency: Vary the amount of water used depending on whether you like a thicker or lighter consistency. For a chunkier texture that showcases the cottage cheese curds, you don’t have the process the dip that much. But if you prefer a lighter texture, add an extra bit of water at a time until you like the texture of the dip.
- For Tanginess: If you enjoy a bit more of a tangy flavor, add a splash of fresh lemon juice before processing the ingredients.
- No Cottage Cheese? If you don’t have access to cottage cheese, you may also use sour cream or cream cheese instead.
- No Food Processor or Blender? If you don’t own a food processor or high-speed blender, you may also use an immersion blender to process the dip ingredients instead.
- Storing: Place any leftover dip in a mason jar or airtight container and store it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
