Bacon and Eggs for Breakfast
When I was younger, I remember that each time my family and I traveled overseas for our holidays, the hotels we stayed in would often serve a huge buffet breakfast, and one of the highlights for me was a big portion of bacon and eggs. In my opinion as a little girl, that was my idea of heaven.
Till this day, I love the crunch of crispy slices of bacon that break easily, and the sweet, caramelized flavor mingling with the tasty savory fat from the bacon. Pair that with a sunny-side-up fried egg with liquid golden yolk and freshly ground black pepper, and it will somehow feel like I’m on a holiday.
While I don’t eat bacon and eggs frequently, whenever I think of a luxurious breakfast or lazy brunch, and I want something savory, I gravitate towards this. (On other days, when I want something sweeter, I may opt for a stack of fluffy gluten-free pancakes, or these delicious gluten-free waffles.)
But when I do want bacon, I find that cooking it in the air fryer is the best!
Why I Love the Air Fryer
The air fryer is honestly a total game-changer, and since we bought ours, we use it at least a few times a week. Whether we’re making finger food such as air fryer French fries, air fryer zucchini fries, air fryer chicken wings and air fryer chicken tenders, or snacks such as air fryer kale chips and air fryer chickpeas, there just seems to endless recipes to make with this amazing kitchen appliance.
I thing I love most about cooking with the air fryer is that you don’t need much oil (and sometimes you don’t need any oil at all), but you still get a crispy exterior that we love about fried foods.
The best part of this easy air fryer bacon recipe is that there is no oil splatter (compared to when you deep fry or pan fry), which means less clean up and that’s always a good thing in my view!
If you haven’t got your air fryer yet, what are you still waiting for?
Why This Recipe Works
- No Bacon Grease Splatters: If you love your bacon like I do, but don’t want to be stuck at the stove watching the bacon and getting bacon grease splattered all over you, this air fryer bacon recipe is your answer! Using the air fryer is the least messy way to cook bacon, with no greasy mess, and it’s about to become your new favorite way to cook bacon! You won’t go back to cooking stove top bacon again!
- Bacon and Grease Separated: The bacon grease collects at the bottom of the air fryer basket, so the bacon is automatically separated from the grease (unlike if you were frying the bacon in a skillet where the bacon and the grease are all together).
- Perfect Crispy Results: Using the air fryer ensures that you get the crispiest bacon strips possible.
- Super Easy to Make: All you need is literally just 10 minutes for this simple recipe and you’ve got perfect bacon that’s amazingly crunchy and worthy of starting any morning right. Ready for some bacon? Let’s dive right in!
Ingredients You’ll Need:
All you need is bacon for this crispy air fryer bacon recipe. Nothing else.
You don’t even need oil to air fry bacon since the bacon’s already got enough fat going on!
Depending on how you like your bacon, you can choose thick cut bacon, regular bacon, or thin cut bacon.
How to Cook Air Fryer Bacon (Step by Step)
1. Arrange Bacon in Single Layer
Place the strips of bacon in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
2. Cook Till Crispy
Cook at 350F for 9 to 10 minutes until bacon is crispy, flipping the slices over halfway through.
3. Dry Bacon with Paper Towels
Lay the cooked bacon on paper towels to get rid of any excess bacon grease.
4. Reheat Bacon
If you cooked the bacon in more than one batch, simply return the cooked bacon to the air fryer and reheat all of it at once for an extra minute or two before serving.
5. Serve and Enjoy!
Serve this delicious air fried bacon with a sunny-side-up egg, chopped green onions and a piece of bread, or eat it alone!
Dish by Dish Tips/Tricks:
- Do not Overcrowd: Make sure you lay the bacon out in a single layer and that it doesn’t overlap so there is space for the hot air to circulate and ensures that the bacon crisps up on all sides. Depending on the size and type of your air fryer, you may need to cook the bacon in 2 or more small batches. If cooking the bacon in more than 1 batch, make sure to pour away any bacon grease that collects at the bottom of the basket before cooking the next batch.
- Cook Time Depends on Cut and Thickness The cook time will depend on the thickness of the bacon. Thicker bacon slices will require 10 minutes in the air fryer, and thinner-cut bacon will require less time, approximately 5-6 minutes. Make sure to check the bacon halfway through to ensure it doesn’t overcook or dry out.
- Type of Bacon: Feel free to use different types of bacon. Alternatively, if you don’t eat pork, you can also use turkey bacon slices instead.
- Make Clean Up Easier: You can line the bottom of your air fryer (where the bacon grease collects) with aluminum foil or parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Hi mummy! Yes, bacon is great for breakfast (although definitely not for everyday)!
Good morning Felicia and thanks for sharing with us such a simple dish for breakfast.
Making my breakfast more wholesome, I have added to it a side dish of garden salad accompanied with a glass of my favourite ABC (apple, beetroot and celery) juice.
So yummy and satisfying with the meal and now I am all ready to start a new day!
Have a blessed day ahead!
